President receives Indonesia's
Ambassador Simamora
His Excellency President David
Adeang received the letter of credence of Indonesia's Dupito Darma
Simamora, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Nauru, 19 April.
After a brief courtesy visit with
the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade Dominic Tabuna,
Ambassador Simamora inspected the Nauru Police Force Guard of
Honour before proceeding to the Office of the President.
President Adeang extended to
Ambassador Simamora Nauru's gratitude to Indonesia, for its
"invaluable support and assistance" in the procurement of Nauru's
shipping container, the Micronesian Pride and sharing their seat at
the International Seabed Authority (ISA) council for the year
2023-2024.
"We are confident that under your
esteemed leadership, the relationship between Nauru and Indonesia
will reach new heights… we look forward to advancing the
partnership between Nauru and Indonesia during your term,"
President Adeang said.
Ambassador Simamora, signalled his
country's openness to continued collaboration with Nauru on matters
of shared interests, including educational opportunities, regional
cooperation and environmental sustainability.
Prior to his appointment, the
Ambassador served as Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the
Republic of Indonesia in Belgium, and has a Master of Arts from
Monash University, Australia in 1993.
